The Kerouac Festival:
Founded by Galician-Brooklyn-based poet and performer Marcos de la Fuente, the festival continues its mission to honor the rebellious spirit of Jack Kerouac and the Beat Generation through boundary-breaking artistic expression.
Typewriters Anonymous:
Typewriters Anonymous is a way of making space to share about life, be in the present moment, and use analog machines as instruments of collaboration. Together we tap into collective imagination. We value kindness, radical tenderness, and are seekers of joie de vivre (exuberant enjoyment of life!)—the driving force behind Typewriters Anonymous and the love we share!
Library Girl:
Created, curated and produced by Susan Hayden, Library Girl is a monthly literary series. Originating in 2009 at Ruskin Group Theatre in Santa Monica, CA, the show celebrates the written word and features some of the boldest voices in Los Angeles: poets, essayists, novelists, playwrights and musicians.
El Martillo Press:
El Martillo Press publishes writers whose pens strike the page with clear intent; words with purpose to pry apart assumed norms and to hammer away at injustice. El Martillo Press proactively publishes writers looking to pound the pavement to promote their work and the work of their fellow pressmates. There is strength in El Martillo. Founded in Los Angeles in 2023 by Matt Sedillo and David A. Romero, and launched with a diverse group of celebrated and hardworking writers who embody our working-class intellectual spirit, El Martillo Press maintains an editorial board that makes its selections for publishing.
