Join three Southern California writers of Mexican descent: Daniel A. Olivas (Chicano Frankenstein), Natalie Sierra (Beyond the Grace of God) and David A. Romero (The Enemy Sleeps) as they discuss how they blend the genres of science fiction, romance and mystery with the inconography of horror to craft unique and compelling tales!
Daniel A. Olivas, the grandson of Mexican immigrants, is a fiction writer, poet, playwright, book critic, and attorney. He is the author of 13 books and editor of two anthologies.
Natalie Sierra (she/they) is the third poet laureate of Pomona, California. She is a poet, author, and editor. Natalie is the president of Café Con Libros Press, a nonprofit bookstore in downtown Pomona.
David A. Romero is a Mexican-American poet, novelist, and publisher from Diamond Bar, CA. He is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of El Martillo Press. Romero is the author of the novel The Enemy Sleeps (El Martillo Press, 2026) and the books of poetry My Name Is Romero (FlowerSong Press, 2020) and Diamond Bars 2 (Moon Tide Press, 2024).
